Through a focus on using simple ingredients, high quality materials and a modern production process, the Masoni family have been able to preserve the taste of traditional Sienese sweets. The family continue to use authentic recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next.
Amongst Masoni’s range of Panforte, Panpepato, also known as pepperbread, is one of their simplest and oldest products. Invented in monasteries by monks, it consists of various ingredients including spices like cinamon and pimento which provides the iconic taste of this product. This sweet, round cake is typically eaten at Christmas time.
